Botox® www.botox.com (Botulinum toxin type A) injections are now the UK’s no 1 treatment for facial lines and wrinkles simply because it really does remove the telltale signs of ageing. It is safe, quick and straightforward, and can be combined with other treatments such as fillers (natural collagen) to give you the complete facial makeover.
Botox ® injections relax the facial muscles that, over time, cause lines and wrinkles. It is given as a series of injections using a tiny needle and takes only a few minutes. Individual muscles are targeted so that lines and wrinkles are smoothed out but facial expression is not lost.
Botox® injections have been used safely for over 30 years in both the UK and abroad.
The procedure does not require any anaesthetic as discomfort is minimal, though anaesthetic (numbing) cream is available if requested.

Botox® can also be used to reduce excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis). This involves multiple tiny injections to either the axillae or palms.
Botox® has also been successfully used to treat headaches and migraines.
Side effects are usually mild and short lasting. Some report a mild headache for a few hours after treatment and occasionally a small bruise can be produced. Botox® and it’s side effects, length of effect and follow up will be discussed fully by Dr Knights at the initial consultation.

Dermal fillers are used to enhance and soften your appearance by smoothing out the lines and creases that develop with age. They are injected directly to these areas and give an immediate effect.
Dermal fillers are most commonly used to:
• smooth the nasolabial crease (from side of nose to mouth)
• reduce laughter lines
• enhance lip contours and lip fullness
• reduce chin crease
The Juvederm® Ultra www.juvederm.com range of dermal fillers are formulated with a new generation of hyaluronic acids which exist naturally in your skin. Hyaluronic acid declines with age leading to moisture loss and consequent lines around the lips, nose, cheeks and jaw. Juvederm Ultra is a natural biodegradable gel which instantly fills out troublesome areas and lasts up to twelve months. Juvederm Ultra has the added benefit of a local anaesthetic within the gel which allows for improved comfort during the procedure.
Radiesse® www.radiesse.com dermal filler uses advanced, calcium-based microsphere technology to deliver soft, natural-looking results you can see immediately. And unlike other dermal fillers, it also stimulates your body to produce new collagen, so you’ll continue to look more youthful and attractive over time. In fact for many patients, the benefits of treatment with Radiesse® dermal filler may last up to a year or more.
Dermal filler procedures can be done without any anaesthetic, however they are more uncomfortable than Botox® injections and Dr Knights usually recommends either a local anaesthetic cream or a simple injection to numb an area of the face.
